To overcome the harsh Australian environment and conditions, Toyota added the help of local engineers at the Toyota Technical Centre Australia (TTC- AU) to build the 2016 Toyota Fortuner and the HiLux series.
An affiliate company of Toyota Motor Corporation, the Toyota Technical Centre Australia based in Melbourne developed the upper body, suspension and wiring harness, and the off-road electronic support systems of the 2016 Toyota Fortuner, as well as the touch-sensitive powered tailgate and impact absorbing bumpers.
